100,000 Steps Closer to a Cure

Want to join in making a difference? My father, Gilles Heppell is raising money to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Canada (DRIFCan), and any donation will help make an impact!

My father has committed to walking 100,000 steps in a single day, beginning at 12:01 am on June 4th 2022 to inspire others to donate to Diabetes research initiatives. He has been walking a total of 100,000 steps each week since March 12th in preparation.

My sister was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 8, finding a cure has always been important to our family.

The mission of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Canada (DRIFCan) is to end Type 1 Diabetes by directly funding cure-based diabetes researcher Dr. James Shapiro and his team at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. All funds raised will go directly to DRIFCan.
