Help Lahaina Rise From The Ashes: Community Rebuild Fund
Tax deductible
Nine months ago, a devastating fire, that ranks among the top 10 deadliest wildfires on record in the US, swept through Lahaina, leaving our community in shock and mourning. Countless lives were lost, homes and businesses were reduced to ashes. Over 5,400 people remain displaced in hotels, shelters and some even in their cars or on the beach. These numbers given by the governor are not even close to the true amount families who have had their lives turned upside down. The impact of this tragedy is still keenly felt, and the road to recovery has been long and challenging.
Many of the homes that were lost in the fire contained asbestos (LEAD), making it unsafe for residents to return and begin the cleanup process. As a result, families who have been displaced are left without a sense of security.
Today, we are reaching out to you, our global community, for support during this continued time of need. Your donation will go directly towards providing ongoing relief to those affected by the fire. For those who are looking to help beyond a donation please look into offering temporary shelter, providing basic necessities, aiding in the ongoing cleanup, and rebuilding efforts. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
This round of donations shall be distributed equally among the families who have participated and finished the program Leaders in Transformation (LIT). These families have gone through a rigorous process in effort to heal and empower themselves and our community. The keiki in these families have been educated by business owners and influencers from all around the world. They were taught and are still being guided to create, commit, and make a reality their own businesses. There will also be 10% of the donations shall be given to the nonprofit of Ho'olauhui in order to create a stable fund for this ever growing community.
Aloha is such a beautiful thing and it gravitates people to us. Now we ask that you do the same. Extend your hand to us, uplift our broken hearts and guide us back to our land, our home, our hearts. We stand together in times of happiness now we must learn to rise together from the ashes and rebuild this community stronger than ever before.
Rebuild something that lasts, something that will never be taken away from us. These donations will provide a doorway into the future we see. A future where our keiki aren't scared to laugh, a future where our families feel safe when they go to sleep. A better Lahaina, a better world.
Aina, our land it is ours. Our kupuna, our ancestors they grew this land with their own two hands. They have seen the potential in us and we will not let anyone take this from us.
The generations of memories created here still linger in the air, however our kupuna and keiki are disconnecting. They are disconnecting from their home, their heart, their families. This land that has taken care of us is crying. Crying out for us and our community is struggling, we are still surrounded by that darkness. Help us to bring in the light, be our connection back home.
Thank you for opening your hearts and extending your hands in solidarity with our community as we continue to heal and rebuild.
