100km for Babies/BHS Chain Reaction
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money for March of Dimes, and any donation will help make impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
What I am doing:
I may not be able to do much in this world to help preemie babies personally, but something I can do is run. And I have been known to run for a very long time.
My goal is to run 10km every hour for 10 hours for a total of 100km.
I will run 25 laps an hour, every hour, on the Buchholz High School track.
With that goal in mind, I am asking you to consider sponsoring me for 10 cents each lap ($25 in total).
My goal is to get 100 sponsors and raise $2,500 for March of Dimes.
I will start running at 08:30 (when classes start at Buchholz) on March 27, 2019. My run will end at 18:30 that evening in conjunction with the student Color March for Babies, their annual color run 5k held on the same track. The Color March participants will run with me for the final miles of my quest. Anyone is welcome to join the Color March!
Why do I want to run around a track for 10 hours straight?
Both of my children were born premature. I was lucky and they both were able to thrive with little medical intervention, but I am well aware of how many families go through so much more when a child is born premature.
I want to use my own strengths to support others and this challenge feels like the best way for me to do so.
Who am I?
I am a father of two and a high school teacher at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Fl. I have been a teacher for over 22 years.
Running has been enriching my life since high school. In recent years I have qualified for and run the Boston Marathon and the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. I have completed over 25 ultramarathons and marathons. I am active in the running community locally and abroad. I am also the coach of Two Rules Running, a training program here in Gainesville, Fl.
