100KM Challenge

Donation protected
Hi Everyone! :)
So as you all know during the month of November, lads tend to grow moustaches to help raise money for various men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide.

So that said, no I haven't decided to grow a moustache......but I have decided to take on a little challenge of my own for the month. Throughout the month of November I will aim to run 100KM. I've decided to take on this challenge to raise money for the Irish Kidney Association who provide financial assistance for those who need a Kidney Transplant and for Living Donors. This association is particularly close to my heart and one I have become very familiar with over the past year.

After giving birth to both myself and Edel, my mum Amanda,  after many complications at birth, was left with 13% kidney function. Now, a lot of you will know my mum, but for those who don't, she is the most energetic, bubbly and fun-loving person you will ever meet. She is 100% a goer, a doer and an utter nutter!! She is the glue that holds our family together.

That said, mum's kidneys have (as expected) deteriorated rapidly to 6% over the past few years and will be undergoing a life changing kidney transplant operation in December. All going well, mum should (fingers crossed) be leaving hospital Christmas Eve to return home to her babies for Christmas. Given the current Covid-19 restrictions I'm aware it may be a very different Christmas this year for alot of people but I know that in my household we are getting the best Christmas present of all,  with mum receiving a new kidney from her sister, my amazing and brave aunt Frances, who has whole heartily come forward to give her kidney to mum without any hesitation.

So, I want to show my support. I want to give something back to this amazing organisation who support the extremely brave people like my aunt, that come forward to donate their kidneys in order to give new lives to people like my mum. But... I need your support. PLEASE! I really appreciate any little or large donation you can make towards this fundraiser to help me reach my goal of €1,000 by the end of the month.

Sorry it’s so long but that’s my story...Thank you so much for taking the time to read it. Please follow my journey throughout the month of November and leave me a comment, like or donation throughout this 100km challenge. Your support and generosity is very much appreciated! Thank you again so so much from the bottom of my heart.

Right time to get my running shoes on!!
