100km in a day for Diabetes Uk
Hi my names Meg and on World Diabetes Day (14 Nov 2023). I will be attempting to run 100km to commemorate the discovery of insulin by Fredrick Banting and John McLeod. This year marks 100 years since the discovery of insulin and demonstrates how far research has come since this monumental discovery.
‘Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world’- Fredrick G Banting 1923.
My Challenge: To Run a 100km around the Bristol surrounding area.
When: On the 14th November 2023.
Why Diabetes Uk: Diabetes has become a big part of my family’s life with my brother max being diagnosed with TY1D in 2019. Donations given to Diabetes Uk has contributed to fund research to improve the development of technology and support the care and treatment of people living with diabetes, like Max.
How can you support: Please show your support by donating as little or as much as you can to my GoFundMe page! Any donations will help and make an impact. All money is being donated to Diabetes Uk Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me
