100km walk in 24 Hours (Birkenhead - Telford)

Donation protected
Hello everyone firstly Thank you for taking the time to read our upcoming charity event.

Myself and my two brothers Rik Norton-Wilkes and Cory Norton-Wilkes are setting ourselves a huge challenge which will be walking back to Telford from Birkenhead (Next to Liverpool) According to Google Maps this trip is around 100km distance and will take 22 Hours 17 Minutes (without stopping) our goal is to achieve this walk within 24 hours and to do it as quick as possible. It will be taking place September 21st around midday to hopefully around back into Telford on the 22nd around Midday finishing at the Arena Town Park.

Since losing a very close friend/brother Tom to suicide due to mental health, we've opened our minds to mental health and want to raise awareness to everyone. To those who suffer with mental health and those who have been affected from losing someone due to mental health

There are 2 local charities that are currently doing amazing work so we would love to split all money raised to them both.
Firstly Toms Hub which is an amazing Family run Charity which is very close to our hearts. Toms Hub have a weekly drop in centre at the Lighthouse Church Ketley for people to go in and have a friendly chat with a cup of tea. Then money also funds Toms Hub to take someone/groups out when possible to take there mind away from the battles they have and for them to relax or have fun. This is a genuine amazing Charity that are hoping to make a difference in somebody’s life.
If you would like to read more about Tom’s story then please go his Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Thomas-MRB-104714845027060/

Secondly is a charity called Primal Instincts which is more aimed towards Mens mental health.
Primal Instincts currently have a little over 200 members of all different age ranges and they help these men with counselling talking circles giving them safe spaces to talk and open up.
They also have weekly events like:
-Walk ‘n’ talk on a Sunday morning
-Wrekin challenge and share every Tuesday and Thursday
-Circle on Wednesday nights
-Cold water plunge on Saturday mornings
Some of these events you release chemicals for dopamine into your body which are good endorphins and it gets that good feeling flowing through peoples bodies. They also have coffee and breakfast together after some of the events which gives the guys chance to talk with open minded men who have been through troubled experiences.

They also plan events once a month, so the start of August They are taking 53 men to camp for the weekend in Scotland and we will be hiking up Ben Nevis
Eventually, Primal instincts would like to get funding and grants from the government or if they can get companies to sponsor them or with everyones generous donations they would like to open and men’s health centre
At primal instinct we have created a brotherhood when men look out for each other live experience within the group of guys with advice

As we can all agree these two charities are doing some pretty amazing stuff and we all want the same end goal to help each other and show support to others who feel like they have no one to talk to or who believe they are alone.

‘It’s just a bad day not a bad life’
Speak up your not alone ♥️
