100km’s in 100 days to support Swanwick SSC Trim Trail Fund
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Kim and anyone who knows me personally will also know my son Rueben.
Rueben was diagnosed autistic at 4 and he is educated in the most amazing special school.
The school are currently raising funds to build a Trim Trail within the school grounds but are a long way off the target.
Over the past year Rueben has really struggled with overwhelming grief his world was turned upside down after the sudden loss of a teacher he had built a fantastic relationship with.
The school have been amazing in the support and care they have given Rueben and as a parent I will be eternally grateful to them for having a helping hand in bringing back my son’s smile.
Rueben loves being outdoors and the areas they do have at school have been a safe space for him at times when he’s really been completely overwhelmed with the day to day stuff.
I know what this new Trim Trail could do for Rueben and many other kids who are lucky enough to attend the school.
So with that being said me and my less than active 10yr old decided we really wanted to do something more than just a bake sale so we have decided we are going to walk 100km’s in 100 days.
If there is one thing Rueben struggles with it is physical activity so this won’t be easy for him but he is up for the challenge and I will be by his side as his biggest cheerleader through every step.
If anyone can spare a few quid to support my boy in this challenge I would extremely grateful.
We won’t be walking 1km per day the plan is we will likely cover more over the weekends and school holidays but by the 100th day we will have walked 100km.
The clock will start ticking on Saturday 5th April.
I will be starting donations with £100 that’s £1 for every km he’s going to walk.
