100-year-old nonprofit requests hurricane recovery help
Donation protected
Two hurricanes in two weeks hit the historic Clearwater Lawn Bowling Club. Just as our nonprofit was starting our 101st winter bowling season, Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton gave us a double whammy in September and October.
It was heartbreaking to see the devastation from Helene’s flooding and Milton’s high winds. Our hard-working club members were able to renovate our small bowling green and we are now bowling again on a limited basis.
The city of Clearwater owns the lawn bowling facility and said they will repair it. However, in the meantime we are unable to use our damaged clubhouse or the large bowling green. We had to cancel tournaments, Open Houses, and other fund-raising events during our busiest season of the year.
With the prospect of having to cancel our entire season of the revenue-producing activities which sustain us throughout the rest of the year, we hope to raise enough GoFundMe donations to help us recover from the hurricanes and keep our nonprofit operational.
Your donation will help us recoup lost revenue; replace items ruined by the flood; repair the bowling greens; pay ongoing monthly expenses; and keep our organization viable as we enter our second century of providing lawn bowling to the citizens of Clearwater and surrounding communities.
We appreciate your support and are very grateful for it.
Thank you!
