100 YKQ to See Black Panther

Donation protected

Hello,

My name is Alica.  I am the founder of 100YKQ. 100YKQ is our first community program under Start Up International,  LLC.  I am a mom, Youth Program Facilitator, and youth volunteer in my community. I have over 15 years of experience working with these students on an academic and /or athletic level.

For years, I have partnered with other groups and have seen a gap. This is the inspiration to start a program. Below, I share with you my vision for the program and our first event. If you have questions please contact me.

My goal and vision is to inspire the students through the creative and performing arts, like going to see the Black Panther Movie.  I hope to use this activity and others throughout the year to bridge the gap. Using reading and writing challenges throughout the year to build skill levels and offer activities like this one to expose them to the arts. Also,  tutoring and workshops to offer ongoing resources. I have learned from experience that inspiration can change the path for many students. This is a great way to start the work in our community.

Students at the local churches and schools will be invited to attend.

The funds are being raised to cover the cost of the theater for the private screening.

I hope by exposing our youth to the arts that it will inspire their creativity. I realize we can't do it alone but if we all work together we can do some amazing things. It really takes a village to raise a child. I am overwhelmed by the amazing support we have received so far. The mission is to take 100 students provide each child with a ticket. 1oo YKQ stands for 100 Young Kings and Queens  #100YKQ
