100yrs of History at Our Place in Finland, MN
Donation protected
My name is Mason. My parents own a small restaurant and four cabins on the Baptism River in the quaint little village of Finland, MN. It's called Our Place. On June 19th, 2024, we had catastrophic rain causing the river to overflow its banks and forcing as much as 28 inches of water into the basement and cabins. These buildings have been in this community for nearly 100 years.
Unfortunately, insurance isn't going to even come close to the cost of repairs. The last few years have had several weather-related hardships, Greenwood fire ('21), trail closures ('22), winter drought ('23/24). This last event hit us directly. We reside in a beautiful part of the Northshore. We provide food and lodging to travelers that come to enjoy this splendor.
The funding amount is cost estimated is for repairs to the structures. Thank you for looking and to all for your donations.
Please stop in if you are in the area and keep our business thriving.
