10k a Day in May - Macmillan Cancer Support

Donation protected
Earlier in the year we were given the news that nobody wants to hear. Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, a grade 2 lobular carcinoma. This is the second breast cancer diagnosis in seven years. This type of cancer can only be found by doing your own checks, mammograms unfortunately will not pick it up. As Mum was 5 years all clear an annual mammogram was no longer in place, and only through her own checks did she notice the lump, which we now know was a type of grade 2 breast cancer. Since receiving the news Mum has had a mastectomy and is now on the road to recovery, awaiting the next steps which could include chemotherapy, oestrogen suppressants and re-construction. Even with early intervention the road to recovery is tough. My heart goes out to everyone who has been through and experienced this terrifying illness. The sheer bravery, determination, courage, and positivity shown by Mum throughout this is nothing but admirable. Not once has she let it get the better of her and it makes us all so proud. WE GOT THIS!!

So, I want to do something that will raise money for Macmillan who "hold your hand" through every step and bring light into the darkness. During May, I will run 10k a day, (310km in total). Training began in early March, and I am determined to complete the challenge ahead. The fundraiser link is in my bio, any donation I am deeply thankful for, your kindness and generosity mean an awful lot.

This is about support, awareness & togetherness. We do whatever it takes.

This is for Mum, we love you.
