Alisdair Cameron was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in January 2016. He thought he had beaten it when told that he was in remission in June 2016. However he relapsed in May 2017 and was advised to undergo a Stem Cell Transplant which took place in August 2017. The transplant was a success, but now suffers from Graft Vs Host Disease (GVHD). Everyone asks, how he got through it? The simple answer is, Medicine, Love and Support, which is why on the 27th February 2020 he launched the Alisdair Cameron Trust, SC049991.
Here at A.C.T, we are here to help and support people who are about to go through or have gone through a Stem Cell Transplant or a Bone Marrow Transplant, as these are extremely difficult situations to come through medically and mentally, especially if Graft Vs Host Disease occurs.
By helping and supporting A.C.T you will be a part of a very close family, which not only assists the Medical Professionals and help provide essential medicines for patients about to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant and Stem Cell Transplants, you will also aid the Trust to provide love and support to the families and friends of the patient.
We as a charity will be fundraising through numerous channels, to hep provide care, comforts and fund vital new research in the battle against Leukaemia and attempt to increase the survival rate and hopefully one finds a cure once and for all.
