10th Bomba Research Conference
Donation protected
Since 2005, the biennial Bomba Research Conference has provided opportunities for commUnity learning and knowledge exchanges of Puerto Rico’s oldest known Afrodescendant music and dance tradition. Panel presentations, workshops, historic site visits and bailes de Bomba are augmented by walking tours, community clean-ups and other immersive learning opportunities. The 10BRC will continue to give voice to the stories of our Bomba ancestors and bring visibility to the spaces and places where they gathered through the #LugaresHistóricos project. Each day of the conference celebrates a different town on the Island allowing participants to engage with different families, communities and historic sites in both well and little known locations.
