Allons!
Hello!
My name is Jeff Corbin and I was a sergeant with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany during the Cold War. I am helping the troopers of that era fundraise for a "Border Legion" plaque at the Nation Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
With the resurgence of aggressions in Europe, it is critically important to remember how the Blackhorse Regiment served as a powerful deterrent to the forces of the Warsaw Pact in the infamous Fulda Gap.
Troopers manned the E/W German border 24 hours a day across multiple decades: 1957-1964 and again in 1972 until the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1991. Our units worked long days in all types of weather. honing the skills needed to help keep Europe free.
The proceeds raised in this mission will cover the total cost of the creation and placement of a Border Legion plaque at the NMUSA. Any overage will be donated to the Blackhorse Association Scholarship fund. but this effort will close as soon after reaching our target as is humanly possible.
Thank you for your consideration and THANK YOU to the men and women that served on the Frontier of Freedom.
Allons! (Let's Go!)
