12 Hour Rowathon - Kate Lindgren aka Blind Sculler
Kate and I are organising a 12-Hour Rowathon. The event will take place on 14th May 2022 at Thorpe Meadows. We aim to promote adaptive rowing and raise funds for our registered charity PETERBOROUGH CITY ROWING CLUB.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
12 Hour Rowathon – Kate Lindgren aka The Blind Sculler.
In May 2017 at the age of 50 Kate started rowing. As a blind person she started to row with other rowers but has now progressed to rowing solo with Pete her coach navigating from the bank. In 2020 Kate completed a 20km challenge on the River Nene. We are now organising a “12 Hour Rowathon” to promote adaptive rowing and raise much needed funds to help the club improve facilities and buy equipment for all rowers who access the club. Kate says “…that rowing has changed her life for the better and she would like to support the club, which is run by volunteers, and to show her appreciation for all the hours of support and encouragement she has received”.
The Rowathon will start at 8am on 14 May and complete at 8pm.
If you want to join in; any boat and any crew can enter. Contact Peter Forrest or Kate Lindgren at Peterborough City Rowing Club.
