12 year old Leslie shot at Girloy Garlic Festival
Donation protected
My 12 year old little sister Leslie Andres attended the Gilroy Garlic Festival with our parents and family members, they where all sitting at the north side of the festival on July 28, 2019 when around 5:38 pm a gunman opened fire. Leslie was shot on her right leg while trying to run and hide from the shooter she ran with our cousins she then realized she had been shot they jumped a fence and went over a hill. Our 17 and 15 year old cousins acted fast and made a tourniquet to help with the bleeding they then waited for family members to help them. Leslie had to be carried out and was transported in a small white pickup truck to where the first responders where and was then transported to Valley Medical Center.
Leslie is now home walking step by step but has a long way to recover. The bullet is gone but that doesn't mean there are no remnants of what it did to her. We are thankful that she is alive but her injuries come with a cost not only physically but mentally and emotional as well.
All our family appreciates all the support we have received and continue to receive.
