12 yr Old Elementary Student Hit by Car

I am Juan Galarza uncle of Mathayus Ruedas. He is a 12 year old boy who attends Thomas Jefferson Biscayne Gardens Elementary. On the morning of February 15th, 2024, Mathayus and his two younger sibling were on their morning walk to school just 2.5 blocks away from home. Shortly after Mathayus was hit by a vehicle. He was immediately airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami FL where he under went immediate surgery due to Brain Hemorrhaging, which has caused severe inflammation of the brain and Dr’s had to remove a portion of his skull to relieve some pressure but unfortunately the inflammation has been fluctuating with minimal brain activity. Mathyus also sustained Bi Lateral Lung Collapse and is currently on a Ventilator. His current condition is CRITICAL. Monica Sosa mother of Mathayus is a single mother of 4 and works for Miami-Dade Public Schools as a CIS and is the beneficiary to this fundraiser. This is an unfortunate event that has devastated the family for many years to come both emotionally and financially.
