My friend and coworker, Wendy, needs your help. Wendy sustained a compression fracture to her Tibia bone in her left leg (in the knee joint) on August 4th.
She was out in the yard playing ball with the dogs like she does every day and was unfortunately body slammed by her 60 lb Ibizan Hound, Murphy, zooming around the yard going 120 MPH. Knocked to the ground she ended up in the ER that night.
The good news is: that she does not need surgery, the bad news is: her doctor's orders are wear a full leg brace with no weight bearing for 8 weeks. That means she is in a wheelchair, as she deems herself too clumsy for crutches.
Wendy will not be able to do her restaurant server job for at least 2 months and could be on light duty after that depending on how her leg heals. Since she will have no income until she returns to work, she could use some help with medical bills. Her health insurance deductible is $5500. The medical bills have already started coming in. Orthopedic specialist, ER visit, CT scan, X Rays, physical therapy, and follow up visits are going to add up. And then there are the daily living expenses and monthly payments. Any help will be greatly appreciated by Wendy. Thank you, Carol
