Hi, My Name is Amber Pease. I am Jason's Great Aunt. I am starting this Go Fund Me to try and assist his family with money for gas, unexpected medical bills (Special eye test, for example), and missed work days. Jason's started having health issues 6 months or more ago and they just found out what may be the cause. It's still not definite but they are treating it and he is having a lot of side effects. Jessica and Travis Clements are suffering a great financial burden traveling 222 miles ound trip sometimes weekly from Washington, Indiana to Indianapolis, as this is the only place that can treat him. They also have a 12 year old daughter, and there Grandmother, my Mom, living with them.
Jason is 13 years old and recently had his normal happy life devistatingly turned upside down. He has been diagnosed with a serious case of irritable bowel disease, possible crohns, and ulcerative colitis, This involves his entire large intestines, with ongoing bowel bleeds. He has low iron and problems with anemia due to his excessive blood loss. These conditions have exacerbated previous health issues such as vision problems and his dyslexia but has also started causing him joint pain. He is receiving remicade infusions, as well as iron. He has to see a gastrointerologist, rheumatologist, hematologist, and a special optometrist. All of these visits require weekly trips from his home in Washington Indiana to Riley hospital in Indianapolis, a 222 mile round trip. His family is struggling with fuel and medical expenses, as well as special dietary requirements.
As we all know Christmas is right around the corner and this has taken a huge hit on them. They are such a wonderful caring family that would give you the coat off of theor backs. They take care of their Grandma. $5, $10, Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks. Share, Speard the word!! Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this! God bless You!!!!
11/22/23 Update on Jason:
We had to take him to Riley hospital in Carmel, IN today to get a scope done of his rectum and lower colon. They ended up only having to go a few cm in instead of the full 20cm His inflammation is alot worse than it was in October during his colonoscopy. They officially dignosed him with ulcerative pancolitis a form of ulcerative colitis that affects the entire large intestine or bowel . biopsy was done it'll take a couple weeks for those results.
He has iron deficiency anema its the most common type of anemia he does have to get a iron IV infusion. With the blood loss going on right now They are watching his hemoglobin closely as it is low but not enough for a blood transfusion as of right now. He does not have any type of blood disorder. We where told we have to get this under control. He was started on a steroid to hopefully help calm the inflammation down while we wait for prior authorization for the new medicine called Stelara his first dose will be a IV infusion after that I will have to give him a injection every 8weeks can be upped to every 4weeks if necessary.
