131km Grand Canal Challenge for AsIAm
Donation protected
AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity and advocacy organisation. They work to create a society in which every autistic person is empowered to reach their own personal potential and fully participate in society. They focus on autism inclusion with individuals, in schools and in the workplace.
Unfortunately, some of those diagnosed with autism in Ireland do not get the care and support that they need in the timely manner that they need it. In addition, as with many aspects of life, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought additional challenges for those diagnosed with autism, particularly young people who had many of the supports in place for them interrupted. AsIAm steps up in every way that they can to fill in the gaps and continues to lead the way for those who need them in Ireland. We have first-hand experience of the great work that AsIAm carry out and would like to support their work as far as possible.
Therefore, myself and six of my close friends will attempt to kayak the full length of the Grand Canal. As this is the first time some of us have sat in a kayak it will be a very challenging undertaking. We will be negotiating no fewer than 41 locks as we paddle for up to 7 hours daily to try and complete the 131km Grand Canal within 4 days. We will attempt this on the May Bank Holiday weekend this year to raise funds for AsIAm. We would appreciate any support that you can offer whether that is through donation or spreading the word. We hope to raise €10,000 from our endeavour. We believe in the cause and would encourage you to find out more about the great work that AsIAm do and how people can support them into the future at https://asiam.ie/.
"Get On Board"
We are offering corporate sponsorship of the boats. Get On Board with us. For €500 your company logo will be printed and displayed on our boats for the full trip as well as all social media platforms.
Many Thanks
