Calling all Hearts for Hospice - You Hold the Keys to Open the Doors
16 Beds and a Sprinkler System will open our doors now!
Here in Knoxville, TN, there is a sunny field near a park where the birds sing, the air is sweet, and the hammers have recently ceased. A beautiful, new wing has been completed alongside what was once an empty church building. This is a holy mission; born of one woman’s call, many friends, and the community on a journey of faith and purpose. This is Sacred Ground Hospice House.
Sacred Ground Hospice House is a $4,000,000 miracle in the making as it has been funded, and will always be funded, entirely by donations. It is here that the presence of God is making a way for the dying to pass into eternity with tenderness, compassion, and love. Without regard for religion or even a lack of it this place, the doors are to open to anyone – everyone – in mid-July 2021.
· Why 16 Beds? We had a promise of 20 beds to be donated but by the time our new wing was ready, they were no longer available. 16 Beds and accessories will cost approximately $100,000.
· What about the Sprinkler System? The old church building on the property never installed a Sprinkler System. Our newly constructed wing has a Sprinkler System installed to code. To use the church building as we have been doing in this past year and plan to do in the future, we must install a Sprinkler System per the Fire Marshal prior to any further use. Installing a new Sprinkler System will cost S140,000+++.
SACRED GROUND can and will open for guests without the use of the original building, however, operations will not be sustainable for long. All funds raised after the beds are purchased will be put towards a new Sprinkler System for the original building so that we might continue to hold fundraisers, provide community classes and for storage. All donations that exceed these “door keys” ensure that no matter what may come, we have the donations to cover!
BUT without beds, the doors remain closed, and those in need of tender care and peaceful passage go without both.
From our miraculous start and now by way of adding GOFUNDME, we plead for your participation in these 3 actions below. Doing so will establish a forever fountain of love and peace for the dying here in Knoxville – all in the name of Jesus Christ.
· PRAY unceasingly,
· GIVE joyfully and generously, and
· SHARE our story with EVERYONE -
It is our prayer that by sharing this experience, you may be called to do the same in your community!
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
