Help Anna Beat Breast Cancer!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Guido and I'm collecting these funds on behalf of Anna, some of you may already know the struggle my partner is going through with her aggressive breast cancer diagnosis? I'll be hiking 182 kms, One kilometre for everyday of Anna's Chemo therapy which is just one of the treatments Anna will need to endure.
This is Anna's story
My name is Anna, I'm 45 years old and I'm the mother of two wonderful daughters, Milena (23 years old) and Olga (3 years old). I have been diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer (Luminal B), and writing this text is not easy.
The past few years have been a time of significant changes in my life. My second daughter was born, I bought my dream house in the countryside to find peace closer to nature after 20 years of living in Krakow.
In February, I was still planning a snowboarding trip with my partner - a passion we share and that fueled our plans. The diagnosis that I am in an advanced stage of the disease has radically changed my life.
In April 2023, I asked my gynaecologist for a routine breast ultrasound. The doctor reassured me that I was "protected" because I was still breastfeeding my daughter and recommended a full examination only after weaning.
In December the same year, I had my first mammogram ever. I waited for the results for over a month. After an initial incomplete diagnosis, I underwent breast-conserving surgery. Only the histopathological examination revealed the type and stage of the disease, which had already spread to the lymph nodes under my arm.
I am currently undergoing very demanding systemic treatment: I started exhausting chemotherapy, to be followed by radiation therapy and hormone therapy. To cope with the exhausting treatment, I returned to the city.
In my case, the risk of disease recurrence can be significantly reduced by a non-refunded medication. The cost of therapy can be 150'000 Polish złoty, £30'000
I have always struggled to ask for help. As the oldest daughter in a large family, I have always focused on the needs of those around me.
I got involved in charity campaigns, and in my professional life, I support young, talented people.
Looking back, I see how I neglected myself in all of this.
Today, I ask for any possible support, for which I am immensely grateful to all of you.
Anna has had to pause her work and is focused on her fight so she can see her children grow. Now she has to have daily post operative rehabilitation due to the lymph nodes removal, when she can physically manage it because of the exhausting effects of Chemo Therapy
Olga our 3 year old stays away from kindergarten as we can not risk the possibility of infection whilst Anna is under Chemo therapy. This has turned our world upside down.
I would just like to thank every single person who will share, donate and have offered help in every other way. This means the world to Anna, her children and all of our family.
