19 year old Shooting Victim

Update:  Tyrick Wiley passed away on Thursday evening, September 24th, two weeks after he was the victim of senseless gun violence.  Tyrick's family is so appreciative of the support they have received during this tragic time.  Tyrick will be remembered and loved by all who knew him.


Over Labor Day Weekend, Tyrick Wiley, age 19, was tragically shot in the neck from behind while being robbed in his apartment complex in Dallas, TX.  He was found by his brother and sister who heard a gunshot near their apartment.  His brother performed CPR until the EMS arrived. The bullet went through Tyrick’s neck, hitting his carotid artery.  The gunshot injury, along with having CPR performed for such a lengthy time, caused a significant amount of trauma to his brain.  He has been in a medically induced coma and has made very little improvement since the incident.  There is significant swelling in his brain and because of this, the doctors treating Tyrick have not been able to determine the full extent of his brain injuries.  We have been told it may take several more weeks before a complete assessment can be made.  He is in critical condition at Presbyterian Hospital.  

Tyrick lives with his mother and three siblings, one who has special needs.  This tragic event has devastated their family and placed a heavy burden on them.  While we do not know what the future holds for Tyrick, we do know the medical costs will be significant.  We are asking for your kind support in helping Tyrick and his family with these expenses.  In addition to financial support, we would appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
