Joaquin Oliver - Honor his 19th Birthday
Spende geschützt
Sunday, August 4th, 2019, would have been Joaquin Oliver’s 19th birthday.
Instead, our son Joaquin, lovingly known as "Guac", was stolen from us as a result of gun violence during a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in February of 2018.
This year GUAC’s voice was not silenced and in the name of change, he has accomplished A LOT!
This year, he doesn’t need presents. We need his presence. Sadly, we can’t have that, but you can honor Joaquin’s life by continuing his activism and ensuring that no other family has to endure our pain.
We don’t want thoughts. We don’t want prayers. We want change.
Our goal is to raise at least $19,000 for Change The Ref (CTR) in honor of Joaquin's 19th birthday. If we reach that milestone, we'll up the stakes with a stretch goal - we have so many crucial programs to fund and are ready to start.
Manuel and Patricia Oliver founders of Change The Ref will be meeting with the families and people who have been deported on Saturday, August 3rd & on Sunday, August 4th an event will be hosted in honor of what would have been their son's Joaquin’s 19th birthday in El Paso. Manuel will demonstrate through his art activism and create another Wall Of Demand.
Please support us with a donation and by sharing this Link: http://www.gofundme.com/19kforJoaquinOliver, with your friends and family. Donations of all sizes are welcomed and appreciated - we know there is true power in numbers.
About Change the Ref:
We formed CTR, a Non-profit 501 c-3 organization, to empower our Future Leaders. CTR gives the kids of today the tools they need to be empowered to make changes to critical issues that affect our nation, through education, conversation, and activism. We use urban art and nonviolent creative confrontation to expose the disastrous effects of the mass shooting pandemic. We also bring focus to the NRA's corrupt maneuvers to buy lawmakers while forcing solutions which are essential to healing mass shooting victims' families' lifelong grief. CTR's ultimate goal is to give the young generation of survivors and victims’ a disrupting voice to help lead the way to change - a more peaceful future.
