Funds for Flip

On October 22nd, 2012, the life of CPT Edward "Flip" Klein, and that of his family, was changed forever.  While on a walking patrol in Afghanistan, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated where he stood.  A true testament to his character, he was leading his soldiers from the front instead of being in a potentially safer position further to the rear.

As a result of the blast, Flip lost both of his legs, his right arm and three of the fingers on his left hand.  He is currently recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  He and his family face a long, hard road to recovery and finding a "new normal".

I am asking you to please donate whatever you can spare to help him and his family in his recovery.  While the Army is covering all of his medical costs, there are so many things that his Army benefits won't cover.  His wife Jessica immediately left her career to be by his side so they have lost a steady second income that they have relied on for years to meet their financial obligations.  Once he is able to be released from the hospital, any home they buy or build will have to be specially modified or retrofitted to assist with any physical limitations he has.  This could cost tens of thousands of dollars.  While organizations do exist that build these types of homes for wounded warriors, the wait list for one of these homes is 3 years or more and growing each month.

Flip is a down-to-earth, compassionate, funny, amazing man that touches the lives of everyone he meets.  Please consider donating today.
