Callan James Barry is the pride and joy of his parents Lucas and Kelsie Barry and might just be the smiliest baby on the planet. On Thursday April 4, 2019 Callan was diagnosed with cancer ( neuroblastoma ). He has a long road ahead of him but also an amazing support staff including his parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts and Unlces, Cousins, and Friends. Please keep Callan in your thoughts and prayers and feel free to share any stories or even just words of encouragement as this little man starts his battle.
We love you Callan...
let’s go beat cancers butt!!!
Here are some details of what’s going on and we will do our best to keep this site updated along this journey. For the past few months Callan has had a swollen lymph node behind his right ear that his parents and their pediatrician have been monitoring closely. After observing the swollen lymph node was growing they decided to bring him in for a biopsy. Last Thursday, April 4 the results of that biopsy came back and resulted in cancerous tissues. Callan was admitted to the university of Iowa Children’s Hospital where he has been undergoing whole body cancer testing. Although they are still waiting for some results everyone is very positive. Callan started his first round of chemotherapy today and will undergo chemotherapy treatment for the next 4-8 months (sessions) depending on the results and plan put together by his parents and doctors. We will continue to update this page throughout this very brief hiccup in Callans road.
