Hi my name is Danny! I'm a 25 year old trans man who lives in the bible belt. I am seeking financial assistance with my medical transition. I was kicked out at 18 and have been basically on my own for almost 7 years. For the most part my life is good but I live exclusively paycheck to paycheck which has put my transition on hold for many years. This is causing me much emotional distress and pain. Recently, ive made the decision to prioritize my own mental and physical health and try to start my transition. I can no longer keep pushing back this crucial step in my life.
My goal is to have my bilateral mastectomy surgery as soon as possible. I've made serveral calls and emails trying to figure out the best route for my transition and I've found my best option is probably to make a 6 hour trip to Atlanta, GA or further to Chicago, IL to get the medical care I need. I cant afford the whole surgery on my own due to not being able to afford insurance and will need help with the price of the surgery and transportation/hotels for the first couple of doctor visits and consultations. All together I'm figuring the cost being about $8000.
