Boniface India Service Trip- Part 2 (2019)
Donation protected
This summer, Jeff & I will be returning to India to continue volunteer work we started in 2017. We will be spending 7 weeks serving with Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA), a grassroots organization dedicated to rehabilitation, education and empowerment of people with disabilities in rural India.
Working through Handi-Care Intl. (HCI) a registered Canadian charity, Jeff and I will serve as Occupational Therapy clinical preceptors to students University who are completing their OT education.Based in the rural village of Ayikudy, ASSA provides much of its service for free, as it is run by disabled volunteers and OTs from Canada. The ASSA centre includes: integrated schools, a centre for early intervention for children with delayed development, an outpatient rehabilitation facility, a post acute care rehab centre for individuals affected by spinal cord injuries, a vocational training centre, a village based rehabilitation program and a hostel for children and youth affected by disabilities. We will be living on-site at the centre for 7 weeks (July-August) with roles in supervising students and support further implementation of a community stroke program we initiated in 2017.
To support this trip, we will be fundraising in order to be able to purchase supplies, treatment equipment and more while we are there. Our goal is to raise $5000 and hope that you can support us--every little bit will help.
We will be collecting donations until August 18, 2019 through this gofundme campaign.Let us know if you have any questions and thanks in advance for your support & generosity.Boniface Clan XO
