Krystal Johnson - Fight Cancer Fund

Krystal and I met in high school in Lee's Summit, MO where I fell head over heals in love with her.  I have spent the greater part of my life loving, pampering and providing for her and it has been an amazing journey for us so far.  Krystal has been my rock, my encouragement and will never let me settle for less than what I dream for.  She has been my best friend, the best wife a man could ask for and the most amazing mother to our children.  Krystal is a strong faithful women.    We have been living our dream for as long as I can remember.  We went to college together, spent a summer in NY, moved to Chicago for our first year of marriage and then moved back to Kansas City.  Krystal and I both gave our life to Jesus when we were in late elementary school, but drifted afar and didn't really attend church.  When we got pregnant with our first son, Tristin, we wanted to find a large bible teaching Christian church where we could show up on the back row and leave without anyone else noticing us.  Oh boy, did God have a different plan for us.  We had a false positive for Down Syndrome on our Triple Screen test while pregnant and God brought us to our knees.  We had amazing people reach out to us and pour their love into us.  We joined a small group, served in the childcare area and really grew in our faith.  Tristin arrived and did not have Down Syndrome, but we did later find out that he had an Intellectual Disability with some other struggles.  Our Tristin is the person God used to bring us closer to Him.  We then started our life as parents of multiple kids.  Fast forward about 10 years and we find ourselves and our 5 boys (Tristin, Brek, Tate, Britton and Truitt) with an opportunity for me to pursue a promotion by moving to Dallas.  We prayed for a few years as to whether that was the right decision for us.  We really felt like it was the right thing to do and we responded to God faithfully by making the move.  We felt God's direction through the entire process and then he blessed us with our first baby girl, Brylee.   God planted us in a neighborhood with amazing faithful families surrounding us because he knew his plan for us and knew of the medial trial we would face.  He put us in a home right near a Nurse Practitioner who happened to work with Neurosurgeons.  Krystal's back started hurting her after labor and it progressively started to get worse and worse.  One thing led to another and the MRI showed that Krystal had a fractured T2 vertebrae with some tumors that were pushing that bone fragment towards her spinal cord.  I personally think the fracture occurred during labor in order to allow us to find out what was going on in Krystal's body.  Again, God used our miracle baby girl to let us find out what was going on in Krystal's body because she had no other symptoms of cancer.  Our N.P. friend was able to get us in to see an amazing Neurosurgeon very quickly and the medical teams have moved at a rapid pace.  Krystal was admitted to the ER on Friday July 12th, 2019.  A CT scan then showed that Krystal had a 5cm x 5cm primary tumor near her left lung, heart and aortic artery.  The pathology from the biopsy has made us aware that Krystal has stage 4 lung cancer.  Krystal goes in for surgery on her spine tomorrow (July 18, 2019).  There will be some more testing on the tissue removed from around that vertebrae and such testing will give the Oncologist more information on what the treatment strategy will be. We are so thankful for all of the our friends and family that are praying, texting, calling and supporting us in so many ways.  I know that God will use this trial we are going through for his glory.  Krystal is afraid to have the surgery and more afraid that cancer will take her life too early.  She is strong and will fight this harder than anyone else.  Thank you all for your support!  I will continue to update our story and our journey as frequently as possible.   Your financial support will primarily help us to pay for medical bills and care for Krystal. It will also help us to provide support for all of the things a stay at home mom of 6 usually manages on a daily basis like childcare, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Anything on top of that would go to our kids whether that be for school registration, clothes, sports, etc, so they can continue to have as much normality in their lives as possible.
