Bailfund For Jax IWOC Comrade

Comrades,During our meeting yesterday on Saturday 8/10/19 Jacksonville Sheriffs office (JSO) interrupted the start of our Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC) Meeting by arresting one of our organizers. We will not go into too many specifics of what happened to protect the members anonymity, but it is hard to deny that the whole arrest seems politically motivated. The crime that was alleged is a misdemeanor, but instead of being charged for a minor crime they are being charged with a grand crime. JSO was waiting at the meeting location before we got there, which is suspicious that they knew where our comrade was going to be. Given the minor level of seriousness that the alleged crime was, there was no reason for JSO to know exactly where our comrade would be and that they would set up a trap. We believe this is a politically motivated arrest against a comrade that is doing wonderful work towards the abolition of the prison industrial complex.
