Austin Wilkens Cancer Fight
Donation protected
The Story
Our names are Orian and Michelle Hinrichs and we are setting up this GoFundMe Account to raise money for our best friends Austin and Ashleigh Wilkens.
August 27, 2019 was much like any other day for Austin and Ashleigh. Austin had just gotten off of his night shift, and was getting ready to get his twin boys off to school. It was a bright sunny day, but on the inside Austin and Ashleigh were full of stress and worry. Today was the day that could possibly forever change their lives. A few weeks before Austin located a mass on one of his testicles, and it was causing him immense pain. He had a strain once before in high school, so he thought it must have happened again. However, Ashleigh pushed for him to get it looked at to ease their worry. Well they soon were informed it was a mass. Then on August 27 they were given the horrific diagnoses of cancer.
Why We Need Help
Austin and Ashleigh are two of the hardest working individuals I know, that always try and do right by their two 10 year old boys. No one imagines to be fighting cancer at 31. They both work full-time to provide what they can, and still find time to be vital parts in their children’s lives and activities. Now that Austin will be fighting cancer they are going to need all the financial and emotional support they can gather to fight his battle, as well as support their family.
Both Ashleigh and Austin are going to have to take time off work throughout this journey to be strong for each other, and their children.
The Treatment Plan
On Thursday August 29, Austin will be having a surgery to remove the mass. After surgery is completed the mass will be sent off to evaluate the stage of cancer, and the best treatment option. Austin has been told this will be the hardest year of his life, but he has extremely good odds.
How Your Donations Will Help
Your donations will go straight to Austin’s medical care during his fight. It will also help support his family during this very difficult and straining time. Your donations will be a security for the family so that these two amazing parents can focus on getting Austin back to health, support their children, and not worry about the financial strain.
How Soon?
Your donations will help Austin right away. His surgery will be taking place in a couple days and the recovery will be difficult and long. He will be off work for several weeks after surgery. Treatment will begin as soon as he is healed, and the stage of cancer is determined.
Doctors appointments have already began and bills will be coming soon. Any donations will make an immediate impact to help Austin and his family.
Thank you so much, and I will be posting updates as they come. Please continue to pray for the Wilkens’ Family throughout this trying time. Michelle and Orian Hinrichs
