Today marks exactly one week that my smile was taken away from me by someone who claimed they loved me. My ex boyfriend assaulted me in an angry rage he got upset with me because he claimed i wasn’t opening the door for him, so he ended up breaking the door handle off of my car and throwing it at me with so much force that it caused my 2 front teeth to break. I still don’t understand why he did this to me.
I was referred to a trauma specialist dentist because of the extent of the damage. It has been extremely difficult for me to eat, drink and even sleep. I can’t close my mouth due to the pain. My left tooth is detached completely from the root and has caused severe damage to my gums. My right tooth is chipped but there is a crack internally leading up to the nerve which is causing more extreme pain. The damage has caused my teeth to be very sensitive, even to the air coming from an AC. The dentist explained to me that I am going to need an extraction of my teeth & full cosmetic reconstruction of the front 2 teeth due to the severe trauma they have endured. That’s 2 extreme surgeries. I didn’t deserve this at all and unfortunately I am still faced to deal with all the expenses of this incident on my own even when it wasn’t my fault. Insurance is not covering a large portion of my care and there are a lot of additional expenses adding up. It’s very overwhelming & I just want this nightmare to be over with. I want my smile back.
