Carnatic Music students of Kavitha Jayaraman from Florida are supporting SUKRTAM Foundation to help the disabled in India. All fees collected by means of teaching Vocal and Veena music to students in the South Florida Region USA are transferred to this non-profit.
SUKRTAM Foundation is a non-profit trust founded in Chennai, India by renowned Carnatic vocalist Vidushi Dr. S. Sowmya. It aims to involve musicians and students of music in activities that support the welfare of disadvantaged sections of society such as children with special needs & disabilities and abandoned/homeless senior citizens & children. The trust coordinates monthly donations of groceries, clothing, school stationery, essential toiletries and such other material to old age homes, orphanages and victims of natural disasters. Regular music and devotional programs involving young musicians are conducted at centres for children with special needs. The trust also associates with art portals & presenters to host music and dance performances by talented special needs children and artistes with disabilities.
