Isaiah Strong (Newman family)

Isaiah Strong At the beginning of August, Isaiah Newman (12), Son of Billy and Angie Newman, began experiencing monstrous headaches and medication did not provide much relief. The headache would mostly go away but he did have some irritation here and there. Then, almost two weeks ago, it came back with a thunder. Isaiah was prescribed serious migraine meds with no avail. He spent Friday night (10/4) in the ER while doctors again thought it was a migraine. When he woke up on Saturday he was whimpering in pain. On Sunday afternoon an MRI was ordered and after several hours of waiting, they learned Isaiah had a brain bleed and would need immediate surgery. After a grueling 3 hour surgery, with countless prayer warriors standing in the gap with him, Isaiah came through with 60 staples in his sweet little head and soon began to show the side effects that a brain bleed can cause. After 10 days at Sacred Heart Children's hospital, Zae's team of doctors saw incredible improvements. Isaiah is working hard to regain strength in his speech, full mobility with his right arm, and build strength in walking. He is now beginning his journey at an intensive inpatient rehabilitation facility. The hospital team let the family know that they should expect up to 21 days of intensive inpatient rehabilitation although we are prayerful and hopeful it will be much less as Isaiah is doing extremely well. (CRUSHING PT!) Even with insurance, it will come as no surprise that the financial ramifications of a brain surgery, long hospital stay and now rehab are severe. Billy has JUST started a new job, so his benefits have not started yet and he is unable to take much time away from work. Angie has been taking unpaid leave to be at Zae's side through this. As you can imagine, the unknown can be stressful and our hope is to relieve some of that with your help. Your love, concern, visits, and especially your prayers are treasured so deeply by the entire Newman family. The generosity shown for Isaiah and the family have been incredible! So much so, that they would never ask or expect anything else. We know the family is deeply grateful for each and every show of support. So many of you have asked what you can do to continue to support this sweet family, so… If that is you, please prayerfully consider a financial gift to this family. The hope for this fund is to alleviate the stress that can come with unknown medical bills, lost wages and the costs associated with staying away from home. Right now the Newman's are focused on Isaiah's rehabilitation and thankful Isaiah is making progress each day. We pray the impact of this unexpected medical emergency will be lightened by the donations raised here.
