1st Annual Tom's Custom Rods Fishing Tournament

As many of you know, my father Tom Wewerka started TCR, or Tom's Custom Rods 10 years ago. During that time he's made hundreds of rods and fixed countless others. His work reached halfway across the country and up and down the east coast. During that time most of his customers became close friends. He cherished his conversations with each of you. Nothing made him happier about his work than when someone would call or text him with a picture of a big fish caught on his rod. He was ecstatic when someone else was happy with their rod, they were able to customize and personalize.

6 years ago, Tom was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma, during those six years, it was making and repairing rods that gave him focus and a purpose. He loved it and he loved you all. Before he passed, we his family, promised Dad that TCR would live on. We talked with him and he agreed and was over the moon about the idea of a TCR Fishing Tournament. He wants a big payout and he wants it to be fun.

To honor Dad, we're going to fundraise for a year, with our goal of having a Tournament on or near the anniversary of Dad's passing. More details will follow and over the next year, tomscustomrods.com will become the official website for the tournament, with dates, a location, entry fees, and payouts, as well as a donation to a charity in Dad's name.

We ask that in lieu of Flowers or donations elsewhere, to please fund this tournament. We plan to use this money to possibly rent space for the tournament, make hats and shirts for all entrants and pay for website hosting to keep this tournament going, hopefully for years.
