1st home destroyed by tornado, 2nd home by a fire
Donation protected
I am writing to ask for donations for my good friend, Felipe (Philip) Baca. He has had two homes destroyed in two months! Felipe was living in an apartment which was destroyed by the tornado on March 31, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas. After losing most of his belongings, two days later he went right back to work at his two jobs to get back on his feet. He was finally able to move into a duplex in late April. By the end of May, through working full time at two jobs, he was able to replace most of his furniture, clothes, etc. Unfortunately, his new neighbor in the other half of the duplex he just moved into was having a mental health crisis that got progressively worse. On June 3, 2023, Felipe’s neighbor had a complete mental breakdown, and she set fire to his apartment! Felipe was at work when his home was set on fire. When he was notified, he returned to his apartment, and the duplex he had just moved into was destroyed. Almost all of the things he had just replaced were gone. His neighbor has been arrested for arson (she was clearly at fault, with witnesses, etc.). Felipe is one of the hardest working people I know--he is a genuinely kind and caring person. He has been through so much, and those of you that know him know that he never asks for help. He prefers to rely on himself and work hard. I am appealing to those that have it in their heart to make a donation to help Felipe so he can replace the things he lost a SECOND TIME and assist him to get set up in a new apartment. Losing his apartment and most of his belongings in the tornado was difficult enough, but to lose everything in his new home again to a fire under these terrible circumstances is very traumatic. Please help! Sincerely, Rachel Monnahan (Little Rock)
