1st Year Teacher Needs Resources!!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lea Morris, and I am a first-year 8th grade science teacher. My background is in Cellular Biology, so I am learning just how many resources teachers truly need! I was called into teaching after seeing my community struggle to fill teaching positions due to COVID. I wanted a chance to give back, and education was the perfect opportunity. Science is my passion, and I aim to spark the interest of the next generation of scientists. My goal is to bring lab back to science class. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the year I was given an empty class room with no science materials. I was left to buy supplies and glassware for my class with personal money, but the cost was greater than I could give. After the first lab I was amazed at the participation and excitement of my students. They shared with me that they have not been able to do experiments in the past. My goal is to raise money to continue facilitating lab for my students for the rest of the year. I am also struggling to supply my room with COVID essentials (hand sanitizer, Lysol, disinfectant wipes, ect.). Some of the donations will be delegated to helping my class limit the spread of COVID and keep students in school. As many families are financially affected by COVID, many students are without paper, pencils, and other essential school supplies. As a teacher, I have personally donated as much as I could, but as we are half-way through the year, I am out of supplies. Every penny will fill my classroom with supplies and enhance my student's learning. Thank you all in advance for your donations!
