Deedy Dunphy’s (Marcelle Dunphy) Fight With PF
Donation protected
As most of you know my mom, Deedy LaRose Dunphy, has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis as a result of her rheumatoid arthritis. Pulmonary fibrosis is a rare aggressive lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As of September, my mom had 30% of her lung capacity remaining. Her doctor suspects that it may be less than that today. The damage that has already occurred is irreversible but treatment may slow the progression of the damage. My mom is also being put on a lung transplant list, which in itself is a risky and expensive procedure. Today she is on high levels of oxygen and we’re working tirelessly to get her the medication that she needs to continue to try and live a normal life. She is nearly immobile due to the aggressiveness of the disease. She can get up and walk about 20 feet at a time and then has to sit back down to elevate her blood oxygen levels. Due to her immobility she’s had to quit her job and remain at home. We’re asking for a little bit of help from you to get her through these difficult times. Money will go towards keeping her comfortable and helping her pay medical bills. She’s been here for all of us in some way big or small and I’m asking for you to return the favor. Thank you!
