Unexpected Loss of Patti Nunn

Donation protected

We lost Patti (PJ) Nunn very suddenly on Thursday evening. She was fighting two infections that culminated into a massive heart attack. She was put on life support very briefly but was unable to stabilize before her heart gave out. The family barely had time to make it to say goodbye.
She left behind her husband David, who’s been battling dementia for the last 10 years, four children, two grandchildren, her mother and a multitude of family and friends. Due to this completely unexpected loss, there was no time to plan for it.
David is unable to make any of the decisions or sign any of the necessary things to try to get things in order. Her children didn’t have Power of Attorney. They are now dealing with trying to figure out how to do even the smallest things to deal with the details and finalize plans.
Patti was struggling with infections and was in and outo hospitals and facilities for months. It’s now come to light that bills they thought were paid, have not been, including rent for the home she shared with her daughters and granddaughter. Nor had the lease for January been signed. Meanwhile the family was told that they had to pay a large amount of money to keep David in the care facility he needs to be in. He requires 24 hour care.
With Patti having passed, this now falls on David and her children. Kate has been Patti’s live in care taker since she conquered cancer in February and therefore has not been able to work an outside job. Nothing was able to be planned or saved for any of these things since there was no expectation of this. Patti was still handling all of her decisions and finances until the end.
Kate and Erika have been given 15 days to figure out where they will live going forward, while the family is pursuing either Power of Attorney or Guardianship to be able to do everything that now needs to be done. This family has been through a lot of hardships and difficulties, including the loss of Dave, Patti and David’s eldest son, 3 years ago.
They’re trusting God to assist and meet every need that has arisen. New details and needs are still being discovered through the stages of putting things to rights. If He puts it in your heart to assist, now is the time we can come together and help ease the burden of this great loss. This family is resilient and gives so much to so many. This is a way to give back. Whatever anyone can give or do to assist this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this, please be praying.
