Peggy's Wish

Our dear friend Peggy Agnew Czikk lost her 17-month battle with cancer on Saturday.  She fought fiercely to spend one last holiday with John and her family, but it was not to be.  Much too soon, we lost the grace, beauty and empathy that defined her. For those of us left behind, the question has been what can we do to honor her and the life she lived?  She did not want ceremonies, flowers or memorials.  What she did want was to thank the people who played such an important part in her life - particularly her sister, Jennifer, who opened her heart and home to her over the last year and a half of her illness. John & Peggy lived almost four hours away from the medical care she needed. Jennifer made every sacrifice imaginable so they could stay with her in Denver where Peggy’s doctors were located, sleeping on the couch for weeks at a time so her big sister could have the comfort, space and equipment she needed. It was Peggy’s wish that whatever money might be spent honoring her passing, go instead to Jennifer for home repairs and improvements. Peggy dedicated her life to making things more beautiful  – her gardens, her living spaces, her paintings, her relationships. So it's not surprising that this was her last wish.  All the money collected in this campaign will go to Jennifer as a thank you from Peggy and John for the extraordinary love and support she provided them when they needed it most. With it, Jennifer can make needed repairs to the home she shared so unselfishly with them and have an ongoing reminder of Peggy & John's love and gratitude.
