Burton Family Support Fund

In loving memory of my brother Perry Burton who lost his life due to a home fire on New Year's Eve. He is survived by his wife Kim Burton, son Joey Burton, and daughter Jennifer Burton. We are asking for assistance and support for my brother's family who not only have lost their husband/provider/father, they also lost their home escaping with only their clothes they were wearing that evening. Our family has a very long road ahead to rebuild while healing from this tragedy. The Burton family has lived with the Smithers community for the last 20 years. Perry has been an employee at Western Fraser Mills for 20 years. Kim worked at Tim Hortons for many years before health issues has caused her to stop working. Joey and Jennifer have both completed school in Smithers. And Jennifer works for Apex cleaning services here in Smithers. All of the family are having to travel from out of town to provide support to Kim, Joey and Jennifer during this difficult time. Other options for donations in Smithers is at the Tim Hortons located on Hwy 16 and we are working on setting up an additional area at a local bank, details to follow at a later date.
