FORT MYERS, Fla. — (AP) — Two men are dead following a car crash early Wednesday morning in Fort Myers, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Porter Danforth White, 19, apparently lost control of his Volkswagen Golf, ran off the road and hit a concrete median and then slammed into a tree., troopers said. Passenger Brendan Matthew Belcher, 20, also died in the 1:44 a.m. crash. An accident report said the crash was not alcohol-related. Our hearts are beyond broken. This is a true horror movie in real life. The family and friends of Porter White will all tell you that he was a young man of pure JOY. His smile and goofiness was contagious, he could light up any room. . . . Porter leaves behind 3 brothers, and both of his parents.
