Please Read and Share: The loss of any family member is extremely painful and challenging to endure, especially when it occurs around the holidays. Sara Lynn Austin passed away unexpectedly this past weekend. Sara was a fun-loving, hard-working, and dedicated elementary-school teacher who ALWAYS placed an emphasis on putting others before herself. Sara had a smile that could brighten the spirits of anyone around her. She was dedicated to helping children, and made a lasting impact on the young students’ she worked with. Sara moved back to Pittsburgh from Florida this past summer to be closer to her family, which was the most important thing to Sara. Whether it was driving endless hours to support her brothers’ basketball teams, or simply to come and see her father and grandmother for a weekend, Sara embodied the true meaning and essence of the word, “Family.” The loss of Sara has had, and will continue to have, a profound impact on her siblings; Jenna, Edwin, Dustin, Jason and Maceo. Maceo has meant so much to so many of us, and it has been a pleasure to coach him and mentor him these past few years. Seeing him in this tough spot makes me want to do whatever I can to help him get through this time of need. I ask everyone to please keep Sara and the Austin family in their thought and prayers during this difficult time.
