APAA NERJA . STATION OF HOPE
Donation protected
APAA NERJA STATION OF HOPE is an association which protects the abandoned and abused dogs in the NERJA MARO,FRIGILIANA,area ... on the Costa Del Sol in Spain ....
Spain is a great country but has a terrible problem with stray dogs impregnating other stray dogs and resulting in dozens of unwanted puppies left by the side of the road .. tied up in sacks and thrown in the bin .. chucked in the river ... or just simply dumped anywhere
Ex hunting dogs are also left by the wayside once hunting season is over .. hundreds are dumped or killed every year .. it never ends
The powers that be around here closed our refuge down five years ago and we have actively been looking for suitable land ever since to build a new shelter .. all to no avail .. the local Ayuntamiento are no use whatsoever and are not really interested in helping…
We rely a lot on foster homes for the babies if at all possible and the others are in private kennels amounting to an eye watering monthly bill for accommodation and food .. and then there’s the Veterinary bills too ...as each dog is vaccinated chipped and pass ported and castrated if not already done ...
We then find them homes in Spain Germany Sweden and the Uk .. some have also gone to Poland and Finland too As if this writing August 2023 we have managed to rehome over a hundred dogs this year
APAA desperately needs foster homes and funds to continue our work Any amount no matter how small They all deserve a chance
We can get small dogs adopted easily but the larger ones stay in the shelter for years it is quite heart breaking . If you want to adopt please consider one of the larger breeds .. they are all lovely dogs and deserve a chance
Help us to help them Thank you
