Help Homeless & Neglected Dogs in Puerto Rico
Tax deductible
After returning from a volunteer trip in Puerto Rico in December of 2019, my daughter and I wanted to raise money for the endless number of homeless dogs (aka Satos) we saw and met. Through your support of Stray From The Heart, a non-profit organization of which I'm a volunteer, we can truly make a difference in the lives of thousands of Satos. They especially need our help after these recent earthquakes and the devastation in the island.
Stray from the Heart’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes for homeless, abused or neglected dogs, regardless of where they are born. They strive to create a world where animal welfare matters and animal cruelty ends. Stray From The Heart began more than 19 years ago in Puerto Rico (PR) and since then, they have rescued, rehabilitated and found loving homes for more than 1,500 dogs.
Puerto Rico is an island of just 3 million people, there are close to 500,000 neglected and abandoned dogs roaming the streets and beaches of Puerto Rico. Often these dogs are abandoned by the side of a road, or dumped by the beach to fend for themselves. Many die of hunger and dehydration, while others contract mange and intestinal conditions. They suffer from thirst, hunger and loneliness.
