To Help Our Family After Josh's Accident

Updates on Josh - located below in the updates section - Thanks !! On January 2nd, Josh had an accident at work, fell about 40 foot off a roof and by the Grace of God, landed on his feet. He fractured both heel bones along with multiple fractures in both feet. His left heel bone was sticking out through the bottom of his foot and was completely dislocated. He was taken to trauma unit at Augusta University and had his entire body scanned and his only injuries were his feet, unbelievable due to the length of fall. He was in unimaginable pain for several hours and it could not be controlled. He was finally sent into surgery for left foot that night with 5 pins/wires put in and the next morning had surgery on his right foot with 4 permanent screws put in. We came home Saturday January 4th. His pain level is controlled with Tylenol and Motrin only now. January 22, we had his first appointment and everything looked good, hardware placement was good, all the stitches were removed, new cast put on. Follow up in 5 weeks to remove cast, do more xrays, and remove pins in left foot. He will continue to be non-weight bearing for at least 3-4 months on BOTH feet!! This past weekend, January 31, he began to run a fever and was experiencing a different pain in his left foot.  I spoke with on call doctor and was advised to have him at the ortho clinic Monday morning.  They removed the left cast and one of the pins on top of his foot was infected.  They almost admitted him for IV antibiotics and wound debridement, but after an xray and labs, the doctors decided to treat him with oral antibiotics for 10 days, recast with a window where infected pin is, and follow up next Wednesday, February 12th, BUT to be prepared that day for admission and surgery for debridement IF this treatment does not work.  So we are praying so hard that this was the right decision and does not slow down his healing progress. Honestly, this (these injuries) was/is a miracle from God. The moment when Josh realized he was going over the edge of that roof, he seriously thought he was going to die, he was so scared, but God was with him on that fall and saved his life. God saved him from back/neck/head/brain injuries. We are SO thankful for that. We will continue to need prayers for a full recovery. Josh is such an outgoing worker, provider, coach and father and being stuck like this and depending on others will be his biggest challenge. We are so thankful for our family and friends who have known about this and have been helping us with dinners and the boys. I was able to take the first week off of work to be home and help Josh get adjusted to this temporary lifestyle change and our parents have been here some when I can not and we love y'all! We are doing everything we can to keep the boys lives as normal as humanely possible with their school and sports and just being a kid, but these 2 boys have been so helpful at home and they adore their daddy SO much!  Josh's full recovery timeframe is about 8-10 months ! Thanks in advance for your prayers!! It has been a long 4 weeks and the reality of life has set in.  I feel like I am just in a whirlwind and trying to do my best to do everything and be strong for my husband and my kids.  Thankfully, Josh is covered 100% under workmans comp medically and 66% financially, but we still will be short about $500-700 a month with me missing work and the 33% missing of Josh's income. All of my paid time off is gone and Josh is still looking at multiple appointments ahead. It is VERY hard to ask for help, but multiple friends have advised us to try this to see what may happen. We thank each of y'all so very much for just reading Josh's story. God Bless.
