Beschermde donatie
Christy Pennington is a 52 year old wife and mother of three hardworking and thoughtful children. She is the heart and soul of our household, and is the office manager at Pennington Chiropractic Center. On June 26, 2020 we celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. Faith and family are the two things that make our would turn.
Our insurance coverage has a $10,000 deductible that hit us twice in two weeks. The beginning of the coverage year is March 1st, and there is no prescription coverage. Her diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer was received on February 17th. We have past, present, and future health bills that are putting pressure on us. We have been seeking alternative care now, because chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy have not helped her. Chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, ASEA Redox cell signaling molecules, pulsed electromagnetic wave therapy, and other natural forms of care are what is helping her get through her condition. Alternative care is not covered by insurance. Our current alternative medical expenses are around $2,000 per month without traveling.
Prior to her diagnosis, we had been chasing a cough for over a year. Her previous oncologist was unconcerned, saying that it must be acid reflux. The cough kept worsening. An ENT doctor prescribed medication that didn't help the cough. She was not responding to any treatment prescribed by her medical doctors. We had tried medications that just seemed to make her condition worse.
Christy has had two prior bouts with cancer. In 2013, she had cervical cancer. Then breast cancer occurred in 2017. Her current diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer is affecting her lungs and lymphatic system. She is retaining fluid in her chest and abdomen.
On Valentine's Day, 2020, she had cardiac window surgery. Directly after the surgery, she stopped breathing and was on life support for 12 hours. A week later, she had her first of several thoracentesis procedures.
Her new oncologist prescribed immunotherapy, during which she went into anaphylactic shock. The immunotherapy left her bed-ridden for eight weeks, and she lost 25 pounds, which she did not have to lose in the first place. She is weak and struggles to breathe. The chronic cough still has not left.
Christy continues to fight through this diagnosis. She is a warrior! We are soldiering on!
We are shocked by her diagnosis and are amazed by the generosity of others. We appreciate any and all help with the expense at this trying time.
Sincerely,
Brett and Christy Pennington
