Help Eric’s Fight Against Rare Form Of Cancer

I am asking for help for my sister and brother-in-law in their time of need. Amy and Eric grew up in Cumberland County, Maine and most of their family still resides in the area. They moved to NH about 8 years ago and have spent a lot of time focusing on their careers and building a good life for themselves and their son, Tyson. They enjoy being outdoors, spending time with family, and spoiling their dog, Nash. Eric was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) of the trachea and main-stem bronchus. His best option for survival will require a major and risky open-chest surgery to remove and repair the affected areas. The surgery will put him in the hospital for at least 7-10 days, after which he will begin a daily, intensive course of radiation for up to 9 weeks. Because of the rarity of this form of cancer, all of his treatments must be done at Mass General in Boston, which means lots of travel expenses back and forth. Eric is the main provider for the family and he will be out of work for 3 months or more; sadly his company does not offer short term disability insurance. Amy works for a non-profit and will need time off to care for Eric after his surgery and to get him to and from radiation and other appointments. Finances will be tight, and now they face mounting medical bills and travel expenses in order to get Eric the treatment he needs. 100% of the money raised will go directly to Amy and Eric to help them with their expenses.
