Help Haley Fight A Rare Brain Tumor

My 32 year young, bubbly, energetic, highly motivated, career oriented, kind, animal saving, compassionate daughter was diagnosed in February of 2020 with an extremely rare, large brain tumor. This diagnosis of an Atypical Central Neurocytoma came as a total shock to her and our family. Immediate care was sought here in Traverse City, MI where she was referred to a specialized central brain neurosurgeon at University of Michigan Medical Center (4 hours away). She was told she could have 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, 5 years, maybe more. No guarantees and certainly would have severe memory loss, gait issues, personality, emotional, and complete systemic problems the rest of her life, which she intends to conquer.
In this interim, covid-19 was declared and the world became deep in the throws of a pandemic. Even though her tumor was crucial in nature, the decision for immediate surgery had to be postponed over and over until they could hold off no longer.
Finally on April 17, coronavirus or not, her husband, father and I dropped her off at the entrance of an enormous, overpowering hospital all by herself, not knowing if we would ever see her again or if she would remember us when she was released. Our hearts were torn from us while we watched helplessly her being wheeled away into the unknown, with none of us allowed by her side to help endure this frightening time.
A double surgery, one in the middle of her head and one in the back right, was performed and she was released to me a week or so later. She remembered me, but nothing about me. She couldn't remember if she was married, where she lived or what was happening to her.
The next few months were a whirlwind; intense therapy several times a week, trips back and forth to Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, doctors, specialists, living out of suitcases, nights with zero sleep, shed tears, and lots of hugs and help from our friends. Everything was set aside, our careers, our businesses, our lives. Haley's workplace where she had studied so hard to advance her career, could no longer hold her position and she ended up losing, not only her life's career, but her health insurance.
A few months into her recovery, she had a grand mal seizure from hydrocephalus, swelling of the brain, and was rushed from Traverse City to Ann Arbor via ambulance, with me trailing behind, for yet another emergency surgery on the right upper front lobe of her brain to relieve the pressure so we didn't lose her. She again lost the memory she had somewhat regained and once again required intense in home therapy. At this time, September of 2020, she is not allowed to drive, cook, or do anything beyond her capability.
The initial surgery to remove the tumor was only 40-60% successful so as to not leave her with zero memory (like the movie, "50 First Dates") or to be completely fatal. Because of this, she now requires a month and a half of radiation to try to remove the rest of the remaining tumor. At this present time, she remains 3 1/2 hours south of her home in Hotel Royal Oak to receive targeted proton radiation therapy, until the beginning of November.
If you were to see Haley today in her adorable wig (picture included), with her smile and extremely positive attitude, you would never know what she has endured and will continue to endure. It would bring tears to your eyes.
Together as a family, we know she can and "will" fight this! We find strength and comfort from within, from family, workmates, friends and our Creator.
