Kelly’s Irish Times Staff Fund
Donation protected
For the last 42 years, Kelly’s Irish Times has been a staple of Washington D.C., helping to create memories for generations of customers from around the world.
Like thousands of bars and restaurants across the country, Kelly’s Irish Times and its devoted staff have seen their livelihoods shattered in the name of public health, due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Kelly’s has always been a safe-haven for customers of all types, spanning multiple generations.
Nearly every day, the bar is welcomed by customers who recall the night they met their spouse, had their first drink, discovered their best friends after a kickball game, or raised a toast to a fallen officer. No matter who you are, where you are from if you have been to Kelly’s you know it is special.
The staff at Kelly’s have been hit especially hard by the timing of Covid-19. For the first time in decades, there was no St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, and sadly, there will be no National Police Week in 2020. This fundraiser is meant to raise money to help offset the financial burden on the full-time staff created by having to close the bar to dine-in service and say goodbye to many cherished annual events.
All monies will go directly to staff and help them during this impossibly difficult time. Anything you are willing to contribute is much appreciated.
Hopefully, we can all raise a glass of Jameson, and toast to the end of these difficult times, soon.
****This campaign is run by Doug Barclay, a part-time bartender at Kelly's Irish Times, and Sean Ryan, the general manager of Kelly's Irish Times. Sean will be handling all the financial aspects of this campaign.****
